I was interviewing Aaron Young for our upcoming WORLD MANIFESTATION SUMMIT, and he said something that made so much sense! (He said many brilliant things…but this one thing really stood out.) He said, “People suffer from lack of specificity!” Think about that for a moment. Here’s a man who has created over 10 multi-million dollar companies, he’s been married to the love of his life for over 30 years, he has a beautiful family, and he lives an “Unshackled Life” and trains others how to do it as well. Do you think he knows a thing or two about INTENTIONAL LIVING?
People say they want to be “happy.” But, what does that look like…SPECIFICALLY?
People say, “I want to travel.” But, what does that look like exactly? Where do you want to go? When do you want to go? Whom do you want to go with? What do you want to see and do? How do you get there? Where do you want to stay? How long do you want to be there? How much is it going to cost you?
If you’re not getting the results that you want in your life, could it be that you have not gotten specific enough? Here are three ways to help you define and crystallize what you really want.

Create a List of What You Want to Accomplish This Year
Stay focused on what you want to accomplish this year. Write out your list. Include all eight key areas of your life and BE SPECIFIC!
- Health
- Love
- Family
- Money
- Career
- Spirituality
- Community
- Fun
-
Take Each Item Through This Checkpoint
For each item, write out the answers to these questions:
- Why do I want this?
- What is my specific objective?
- What is my desired outcome?
- What does this look like, specifically?
- What do I need to do to make this happen?
- Who do I need to be to get this result?
- Where do I need to shift my thinking and actions to make it happen?
- Who do I need to get on board to help me?
- What will it feel like when I have this?

Put Down A “By When” Date
Now, it’s commitment time. If you go through the process of laying this out, MAKE SURE you’re committed to it! Learn from successful people! They make a commitment and they stick to it! Mark your calendar and give yourself FIRM DEADLINES! If you have an accountability partner, make sure that person knows. If you don’t have one, GET ONE! (This will be posted on my Facebook Page, so let our community and me be your support and accountability partner! Join us here!)
After you complete this process for this year, do this same process for the next three years, or five years, or over your lifetime. Keep focused on specificity. I’m guilty of this, too. After my interview with Aaron, I realized how many areas of my life I needed more specificity. How about you? Thank you, Aaron!
